There are new articles on TVW only on this news page fo our website OR our Facebook page. Soon we will have the most wonderful digital services available to connect with our members, observers and future residents!
Things look quiet in the camp at the moment but that is deceptive - there are lots of actions happening in the background, and we hope you can join us at some stage soon.
- Pick My Project. TVW was awarded $200,000 to build the village accommodation and ablution blocks for our future residents. The first requirement TVW must meet before receiving any money is to attend a workshop with key project stakeholders (Nexus and Mitchell Shire Council) to begin developing partnership relationships and work schedules, accountability processes, etc.
- Village site.TVW is waiting for official confirmation of a site in the area, currently managed by the Council. We hope to hear something definite in the next three weeks
- Workshops .TVW is hosting a Grassroots Governance session on 21st November (SEE 'events' on our Facebook page).
Strong and legally correct governance is a priority for TVW committee - come and learn what it means and how you can help manage the project via the committee. Real, hands on work, indispensable to keep the project running smoothly
- Presentations to community. Developing strong community support for TVW is basic to the TVW framework. TVW will meet the public at Mitchell - Women In Business 22/11 (go to their website for details and tickets) and at Red's Cafe, Wallan, on 27/11, 9.30am.
And as the ad says..."And there is more!" but I don't want to take up more of your time here. Come and meet us all at the next committee meeting or event, or contact me Judy Clarke for further information.
cheers for now!!
Its a period of waiting and planning for the next few weeks.
We are waiting to arrange meetings for workshops on the next actions in the Pick My Project grant, there are meetings next week with a wonderful volunteer who is helping write a Communications Plan, meetings with council staff to develop our planning and regulations framework for the Village build, waiting for other grant outcomes.
Its a strange sort of limbo with suspended action but also a great chance for people to recuperate after the month of PMP action and develop some ideas for the coming months.
Along with several other worthy, local projects, TVW has been successful in being awarded funding from the State Government 'Pick My Project' grant round.
TVW has been awarded $200,000 to build the accommodation of the village. We will be starting the planning process ASAP, after the grant documents are signed in October this year.
The grant applicationprocess was quite a long and difficualt one, bu the TVW committee and members worked hard to make is a success. Along the way we met many new members andn volunteers. that alone made all effort worthwhile.
So, now onto the planning phases. Please contact us if you want to help in any way, from helping out at the December Bunnings Sausage Sizzle in Craigieburn, to joining the planning team with your ideas.
Thank to an anonymous benefactor, TVW can now revamp its digital services.
L ess than successful attempt tom market TVW for the pick my project voting campaign. many thanks to danielle green for helping out.
Thansk to the hard work of Megan Buntine (mjb consulting) and Sue Gold and Tammy Atkins (It's On Purpose) TVW now has the funding to complete a Grassroots Governance workshop, and develop a strategic Financial Management Plan and a Business plan.
The Governance workshop with Megan will be open to all local people who need training or an update in committee governance.
The other grant is for $20,000 (plus $4000 from TVW) and was approved by the social Enterprise Capability Voucher Application team. This funding will allow TVW to employ Sue and Tammy as mentors and writers of the strategic plans.
Now TVW is really pumping!!
